Wendy Yan Comments in WSJ on Approval of Proposed Little Sheep Takeover

In one of the first successful foreign takeovers of a major Chinese brand, the proposed acquisition of the hot-pot restaurant chain Little Sheep by the U.S.-based fast food operator Yum!Brands obtained clearance from the Ministry of Commerce under the nation's antimonopoly laws.

Unlike other attempted takeovers of Chinese brands by major foreign companies, the Little Sheep deal did not fall afoul of the nation's antitrust regulators – largely because, as Wendy Yan suggests in The Wall Street Journal Asia, Little Sheep doesn't dominate China's restaurant landscape.
