Marion County Tax Bills Arriving Next Week

The 2006 Reconciliation Tax Bills for Marion County (Indianapolis) are set to be mailed on June 10, 2008, with a due date of July 10, 2008. These are the "catch up" bills from last year. Taxpayers have a window of 45 days from the date the Tax Bills are mailed to file real property tax appeals contesting the new March 1, 2006, assessed values. This is the last opportunity to contest the 2006 (pay 2007) real estate taxes. Since subsequent tax values will be based on the new 2006 values, it is imperative to closely review the new values.
