What Will Changes in Washington Mean to Health Care?

The Indianapolis Business Journal's Health Care & Life Sciences Weekly spoke with Pat Cross of Baker & Daniels in a Q&A about what changes in Washington, D.C. might mean for businesses operating in health care.

"The Obama administration, obviously, is going to be a more pro-regulation administration," Cross told the IBJ. "There definitely will be reform proposals. I think it will take longer for Obama to turn his attention to those proposals because of the economy."

Cross expects to see significant proposals in '09 but will be surprised to see anything enacted by '09. With an increased level of regulation and enforcement, Cross believes small drug and device firms in central Indiana will need to be more focused and efficient about not investing too much without covering all the bases on the front end.
