Title IV Regulatory Exposure Outside of the Financial Aid Office

Overview

Washington, D.C., counsel Jonathan Tarnow and associate Kate Tromble, members of the firm’s Education practice, presented at the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) annual conference, held July 12-15 in San Antonio, Texas. Their presentation, “Title IV Regulatory Exposure Outside of the Financial Aid Office,” discussed matters outside the financial aid office’s immediate control that can significantly impact postsecondary institutions’ participation in federal student aid programs. The session also stressed the importance of routine dialogue between financial aid directors, university leadership and other institutional colleagues in order to avoid substantial financial liability or loss of federal student aid. The conference is attended annually by nearly 3,000 college financial aid directors.
