Shhh It’s a Secret (or Isn’t It?): Practical Ins and Outs of Health Care Privacy and Cybersecurity

Chicago associate Sumaya Noush will speak on a panel session titled “Shhh It’s a Secret (or Isn’t It?): Practical Ins and Outs of Health Care Privacy and Cybersecurity” at the National LGBT Bar Association and Foundation’s 2019 Annual Lavender Law® Conference & Career Fair on August 8, 2019. The panel will discuss four major privacy laws that address health information (HIPAA; 42 CFR Part 2; GINA; GDPR) using real-world examples, interactive polling, and cybersecurity tips applicable to LGBTQ health care consumers and attorneys who counsel LGBTQ clients and community organizations.

Since its inception in 1988, Lavender Law® has served as a ‘family reunion’ for LGBTQ+ and ally legal professionals to both look back at shared history and to look forward to the future of the legal profession. The Lavender Law® Conference & Career Fair is the largest LGBTQ+ legal conference in the country with approximately 1700 attendees attending annually.
