5th Annual Military Law Symposium

Helen Tuttle, an associate in the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group, was a panelist at the 5th Annual Military Law Symposium presented by the Military Law and Veterans’ Affairs Committee and the NJ State Bar Association, held at the Law Center in New Brunswick on April 29, 2006.  She spoke on the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act and the rights and obligations of service members and employers.  The panel discussion focused on recent regulations which provide an interpretation of the law that protects the employment rights and benefits of service members on their return to civilian life.  Topics included reemployment rights, seniority status and pay, accommodation for disabilities and health/pension benefits.  Other speakers included Stuart Hoberman, Esq., President of the NJ State Bar Association and Major General Glenn K. Rieth, Adjutant General for New Jersey.  The audience was comprised of many Judge Advocate General officers, service members and practitioners.
