Faegre Drinker has been recognized by The American Lawyer as a finalist for its 2026 "Best Professional Development Initiative" award for the firm's Strong Start Program, a data-driven initiative designed to support the development of new associates.
Strong Start helps ensure associates receive meaningful work experience, consistent feedback and structured mentorship during their first year at the firm. Led by Chief Engagement and Diversity Officer Maria Lewis, in partnership with the firm’s Practice Management and Talent teams, the program introduces accountability around feedback and mentoring to help accelerate early-career development.
The program includes a real-time feedback initiative, structured advisor and mentor relationships, leadership engagement, and professional development opportunities designed to help associates build skills, confidence and connections across the firm. Strong Start also leverages pro bono work as a strategic development tool, providing early opportunities for associates to gain substantive experience and expand their professional networks.
The 2026 American Lawyer Industry Award finalists will be honored and winners announced at the annual gala on November 12 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
