Paul Saint-Antoine Named to 2021 “Best of the Bar” List by the Philadelphia Business Journal

Business litigation partner and co-leader of the firm’s national antitrust practice Paul Saint-Antoine has been named a 2021 “Best of the Bar: Philadelphia’s Top Lawyers” honoree by the Philadelphia Business Journal. The “Best of the Bar” awards, now in their fifth year, selects 35 local lawyers who, within the last 12 months, have distinguished themselves in their practice specialties.

For more than 30 years, Saint-Antoine has litigated high-profile antitrust cases nationally and championed many public interest causes locally. Recently, he served as a lead trial counsel for client Thomas Jefferson University in a closely watched enforcement action brought by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Pennsylvania Attorney General to block Jefferson’s merger with Albert Einstein Healthcare Network. Saint-Antoine and the team prevailed for the client in what was the first FTC antitrust action to be defeated in the health care space in nearly two decades.

Saint-Antoine has a long history of pro bono work since the 1990s, when he represented Philadelphia’s foster children in the precedent-setting Baby Neal class action case. From 2006 to 2017, he was on the board of directors of the Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia. In 2016, the Education Law Center recognized Paul and his colleague, Chanda Miller, with a Pro Bono Award for their work representing special education students and their parents in the Philadelphia School District.

Most recently, Saint-Antoine has served on the Advisory Board of the Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts, which advocates for the merit selection of appellate judges in the Commonwealth and which sponsors a variety of programs related to the judicial system. He also continues to serve as co-counsel with the Public Interest Law Center and the Education Law Center in advocating for the educational rights of students, and for many years, has been an enthusiastic volunteer with the Philadelphia Reads program.
