Faegre Drinker Continues to Bolster International Corporate Restructuring Practice with Addition of 5 Associates in London

Faegre Drinker has announced the addition of five associates to its finance and restructuring team in London. Wayne Beck, Buvini Kularatne, Raphaela Cotoulas, Katie Crispi and Abigail Taylor are the latest attorneys to bolster the firm’s international corporate restructuring practice and strengthen Faegre Drinker’s ongoing commitment to adding top-tier talent in key markets. Their arrival follows the addition of two of the world’s leading restructuring attorneys, James F. Conlan and Patrick Corr. The group comes to the firm from Sidley Austin.

Faegre Drinker’s finance and restructuring team comprises more than 100 professionals including specialists, and advises clients across diverse industries on matters from financial transactions, to corporate debt restructurings, to bankruptcy and litigation matters.

Wayne Beck brings a wide range of high-level experience to client engagements, including acting for creditors, creditor committees, debtors, insolvency practitioners, banks and other financial institutions, and purchasers of distressed assets in cross-border, multijurisdictional and domestic insolvency, corporate reorganization, recovery, turnaround and litigation matters.

Buvini Kularatne has a broad range of experience acting for debtors, creditors, insolvency practitioners and distressed investors on contentious and noncontentious, cross-border, financial restructuring, corporate recovery and turnaround matters, and has a particular focus on distressed real estate work.

Raphaela Cotoulas has a wide range of experience acting for debtors, creditors, insolvency practitioners and purchasers of distressed real estate in cross-border and domestic insolvency, corporate reorganization, recovery and turnaround matters.

Katie Crispi has experience advising debtors, creditors, insolvency professionals and other stakeholders in relation to cross-border and U.S. domestic insolvency proceedings across a wide range of business sectors.

Abigail Taylor’s experience includes advising on cross-border, domestic insolvency, financial restructuring, corporate reorganization and turnaround matters.

Faegre Drinker launched global operations, effective Feb. 1, 2020, the result of the combination of Faegre Baker Daniels, an international law firm with deep roots in the Midwest, and Drinker Biddle & Reath, a full-service national law firm with storied mid-Atlantic origins. The merger brought together more than 1,300 attorneys, consultants and professionals in 22 locations across the U.S., U.K. and China.

The launch came just six weeks before the firm began remote operations in response to the coronavirus pandemic, but this has not slowed its integration efforts or plans for strategic growth. The firm has hired more than 15 lateral partners and counsel since the beginning of the year.
