FaegreBD to Receive Prestigous ABA Pro Bono Publico Award

Faegre Baker Daniels will receive the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Pro Bono Publico Award—the ABA’s most prominent pro bono recognition.

The prestigious award honors both law firms and attorneys that have enhanced the human dignity of others by improving and/or delivering volunteer legal services to our nation’s poor and disadvantaged.

“We are proud of FaegreBD’s pro bono commitment and our firm’s professionals who give their time to help low-income and other vulnerable people in the communities we serve,” said Tom Froehle, FaegreBD chair and managing partner. “Pro bono service is one of our core values and we appreciate receiving the Pro Bono Publico Award as recognition for the important work our firm has done and will continue to do to advance access to justice.”

FaegreBD is being recognized for its overall outstanding pro bono service on behalf of low-income and other vulnerable people in communities, in addition to the firm’s long and varied commitment to exemplary pro bono service altogether. The nomination, submitted by Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid, specifically focused on FaegreBD’s longstanding pro bono housing-advocacy practice.

“We are honored to receive the Pro Bono Publico Award from the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service,” said Kelly Tautges, FaegreBD pro bono counsel and director. “Our attorneys and legal professionals provide remarkable pro bono service that protects and empowers individuals, supports nonprofit organizations and advances civil rights and the rule of law. We are pleased to see their work recognized with this award.”

FaegreBD has a long and rich tradition of providing pro bono legal services. The firm utilizes our professional and philanthropic resources to meet the legal needs of low-income and other vulnerable people in our community and to promote and strengthen the rule of law locally and around the world.

FaegreBD will be presented the Pro Bono Publico Award at the ABA Annual Meeting on August 10, in San Francisco.
