Drinker Biddle Alumnus Kenneth Frazier, Now Merck President, CEO and Chairman of the Board, to Speak at Drexel University’s 2019 Commencement

Alumnus Kenneth C. Frazier is set to speak at Drexel University’s commencement ceremony on June 14, 2019. The University-wide ceremony will take place at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Drexel President John Fry said of the choice, “I’m certain our graduating class will enjoy hearing from a highly successful corporate executive whose career in business, law and public service roles has given him a unique perspective, and whose personal journey stretches from North Philadelphia to Harvard Law to the corporate boardroom.”

Currently, Ken is President, CEO and Chairman of the Board at Merck & Co., Inc. He also sits on the boards of Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), Weill Cornell Medicine, Exxon Mobil Corporation and Cornerstone Christian Academy in Philadelphia. Ken is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Philosophical Society, The Business Council, the Council of the American Law Institute and the American Bar Association.

After joining Merck in 1992, Ken has held a number of leadership positions, including President of Global Human Health, Vice President and General Counsel. Ken joined Drinker Biddle as a litigation associate in 1978 and was a partner at the firm when he left to join Merck. Ken received his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University and his J.D. degree from Harvard University School of Law.
