Cheryl Orr Selected as One of Daily Journal’s Top Women Lawyers in California
Managing partner Cheryl Orr has been selected by the Daily Journal as one of the Top Women Lawyers in California for 2018. The annual list recognizes women lawyers who demonstrate excellent lawyering and leadership skills in California. This is the third year that Cheryl has been selected.
The publication’s special edition features an article highlighting Cheryl’s wage and hour class action cases, including a case for a higher education company, in which she negotiated an individual settlement and achieved dismissal of a suit that alleged the education company had systematically underpaid its instructors. The article also references Cheryl’s part in the #MeToo movement, auditing anti-harassment policies and practices for retailers and startups across the country. Cheryl stated that she is very proud that half of Drinker Biddle’s firm’s managing partners are women.
Cheryl received the award at a reception following the Daily Journal’s Women Leadership in Law conference, where Cheryl also serves as co-chair. The event brings law firm professionals and women leaders together for panel discussions, interactive forums and networking. Drinker Biddle Chairman and CEO Andy Kassner and COO Jane Koehl served as panelists as well.
