Brent Auberry Awarded 2017 Property Tax Article of the Year Award by IPT

The Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT) has awarded Brent Auberry the 2017 Property Tax Article of the Year Award for his article, “Invalid Dark BoxProperty Tax Claims Misinform Indiana and Michigan Legislatures,” which was published in the July 2016 issue of IPT’s monthly publication, IPT Insider.

The Institute, founded in 1976, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational association serving over 4100 members representing approximately 1450 corporations, firms, or taxpayers throughout the United States and Canada. It is the only professional organization that educates, certifies and establishes strict codes of conduct for state and local income, property and sales and use tax professionals who represent taxpayers.

Auberry concentrates his practice on state and local taxation. Over the past 15 years, he has represented property taxpayers across Indiana in real property tax assessment appeals and economic development/abatement matters involving office buildings, apartments, manufacturing facilities, and other commercial and industrial properties, as well as riverboat casinos. He is also the author and creator of TaxHatchet.com — a blog exploring developments on state and local tax (SALT).
