Bob Stoll Pens Article for IP Watchdog Regarding USPTO Director Iancu

Robert Stoll, intellectual property partner in Washington, D.C., wrote an article in IP Watchdog, “Director Andrei Iancu’s Act One,” discussing high priority agenda items for the appointed U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Director. Bob states that Director Iancu, who left a high profile position as managing partner at Irell and Manella LLP, will face much scrutiny by the IP community as “his chance for significant policy impact is limited by time and the need to immediately deliver valid and timely patents on day one.”

Bob highlights several early initiatives that would make a huge impact on Director Iancu’s legacy, such as ensuring that USPTO funds are used by the office, limiting the scope of exclusion from patent subject matter eligibility, reviewing post grant procedures and meeting with the Patent Office Professional Association (POPA).
