Jennifer Dean, Darren Cahr, and Drinker Biddle’s IP team Ranked in World Trademark Review 1000 for 2017

Drinker Biddle's Intellectual Property Practice Group was named in the prestigious World Trademark Review 1000 (WTR 1000) for 2017. Both our Chicago and Washington, D.C. offices were ranked in their respective territories.

The Chicago office was rated Bronze, with a special recognition for partner Darren Cahr:

“The sophisticated trademark team at Drinker Biddle & Reath provides end-to-end branding solutions to a loyal following of prestigious patrons. Stellar client service is at the top of the group’s priorities and its practitioners are tireless in pursuing optimal results for rights holders. The “extremely bright and very competent” Darren Cahr is one such professional. He is a jack of all trades, master of many – adept at both counseling and litigation, he also takes charge of the firm’s thriving advertising and promotions practice, which grants him a mile-high view of brand protection and development.”

The Washington, D.C., office was also rated Bronze in the category of “Prosecution and Strategy;” and Jennifer Dean was highlighted:

"The branding team at Drinker Biddle & Reath provides all-encompassing support across the trademark lifecycle. Reinforced by the outfit’s bustling general practice, the group takes an integrated approach to broader marketing problems; its close working relationship with the advertising and promotions contingent, for example, is very beneficial to clients. Leading the pack is Jennifer Dean, a whizz at establishing and developing new brands in the United States and abroad. She takes a highly proactive approach to protecting portfolios and overcoming the obstacles that inhibit the growth of a mark.”

All individuals named on the list were included because the World Trademark Review received substantive, positive feedback about them from industry peers.

The WTR 1000, a British publication, is comprised of in-depth jurisdiction-specific chapters that analyze the local market and identify leading practitioners and firms. Over a four-month period, analysts conducted more than 1,300 interviews with trademark specialists in more than 60 key jurisdictions. Interviewees’ opinions were specifically sought on the firms and practitioners that are leading the field in terms of their work, their skills and their levels of client service.
