Joe Price Named to Law360's Product Liability MVPs of the Year

Joe Price, partner in the product liability practice of Faegre Baker Daniels in Minneapolis, has been named one of 10 Law360’s Product Liability MVPs of the Year.

Price, a 40-plus year veteran of mass torts litigation, was noted for his role as lead trial lawyer for Zimmer in two significant product liability defense victories in the last year. He led the team defending the Durom Acetabular Cup hip replacement product in John Pugliese v. Zimmer, which was tried in St. Clair County, Ill., a difficult defense jurisdiction. After a three-week trial, the jury ruled unanimously in favor of Zimmer on all claims filed by the plaintiff in this bellwether trial.

Price also served as chief trail lawyer in a second case in St. Clair County returning a 12-0 jury decision in favor of Zimmer in Harold Mullin v. Zimmer, another three-week trial with odds stacked against the defense.

Price has served nearly 45 years with Faegre Baker Daniels, and has played a major role in developing the firm’s product liability mass tort defense practice into what it is today, a 2015 top-three “Powerhouse” firm in product liability litigation, according to BTI Consulting’s Litigation Outlook.

The MVP awards went to 189 elite attorneys whose successes in high-stakes litigation, record-breaking deals and complex global matters stood out among the more-than 850 nominees this year.
