Dave Johnson Joins FaegreBD Government Relations Practice

Faegre Baker Daniels is proud to announce that Dave Johnson has joined the firm's Minnesota government relations practice as a partner. Johnson represents clients before the Minnesota Legislature, state and federal agencies, and local units of government in a wide range of matters.

Prior to joining FaegreBD, Johnson led the government affairs practice at Minneapolis firm Best & Flanagan. From 1997 to 2002, he served in the Minnesota Senate, focusing on transportation, energy and economic development issues. He served as a Majority Whip in 2001-02.

In addition to Johnson's experience as a lobbyist, he also advises clients on government contracting and compliance, licensing, open meeting, and data practice issues. He also counsels clients on state and federal campaign finance law and the regulation of political activity.

"Our clients are increasingly impacted by decisions made at all levels of government," said Rich Forschler, partner and FaegreBD Minnesota government practice leader. "We are proud to have Dave join our team to help meet these rising demands. Dave is an effective advocate and policy advisor, and his background directly aligns with our clients' interests."

Johnson received his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, and his undergraduate degree from Augsburg College in Minneapolis.
