Health and Internet Policy Advocate Libby Baney Returns to FaegreBD Consulting

Strategic advocate Libby Baney has rejoined FaegreBD Consulting as a senior director on the firm's health and biosciences team in Washington, D.C.

Baney will create and implement public policy solutions for corporations, trade associations, nonprofits, government entities and individuals on issues involving health care, technology and intellectual property. She also will serve as legal counsel with FaegreBD Consulting's parent company, Faegre Baker Daniels — an international law firm with more than 750 professionals in 13 locations handling complex transactional, regulatory and litigation matters throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.

Baney first joined FaegreBD Consulting in 2007 after graduating cum laude from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington. She left the firm in 2013 to found and lead FWD Strategies International LLP, whose health care and Internet technology services spanned multiple continents and touched nearly all 50 U.S. states.

Previously with FaegreBD Consulting, Baney was an active advocate in legislation involving the Drug Quality and Security Act of 2013, Food and Drug Administration Safety and Innovation Act of 2012, the Affordable Care Act and the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. She continues to serve as the founding executive director of the Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies (ASOP), a globally active nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. addressing the issue of illegal online drug sellers.

Baney is also a frequent speaker and writer, regularly engaging with diverse audiences. With FWD Strategies, she gave presentations on Internet policy and illegal online drug sellers in Washington, D.C., China, Japan, Korea, Belgium and London.

While earning a bachelor's degree with highest distinction from Indiana University in 2004, Baney worked on community development projects for the city of Indianapolis, as well as creating corporate response plans involving state and federal legislation for a pharmaceutical company.
