Alumni Bill Farrell, Jr. & Mike Nicolas form Longford Capital, a litigation funding firm, and are Featured in The Chicago Lawyer

Alumni Bill Farrell, Jr. and Mike Nicolas recently formed the litigation funding firm, Longford Capital, and were featured in the August 2014 issue of The Chicago Lawyer. The vision for Longford Capital first came to Bill and Mike in 2010 and in 2013 the two alumni opened the doors to their Chicago office after determining that the demand for litigation funding in the United States far exceeded the supply of capital. The company has so far bankrolled more than 10 corporate plaintiffs in exchange for a portion of their winnings and all the risk of losing.

Bill joined the Chicago office of Gardner Carton and Douglas in 1996 after working for three years as a criminal prosecutor with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. Bill was a member of our Commercial Litigation practice group. In 2006, Bill joined Neal Gerber & Eisenberg as a partner and remained there through the opening of Longford Capital. Bill received his B.S. degree from Indiana University and his J.D. from The University of Notre Dame Law School.

Mike joined the Chicago office of Gardner Carton and Douglas in 1998 and was also a member of our Commercial Litigation practice group. He left the firm in 2006 and became a partner at Neal Gerber & Eisenberg. He too remained with that firm through the opening of Longford Capital. Mike received his B.S. degree from Northern Illinois University and his J.D. from The Chicago Kent School of Law.
