In Memoriam: Wallace P. Cooney Passes Away

With great sadness we inform you of the passing of retired Philadelphia alumnus and friend, Wallace P. Cooney. Wallace retired to the Washington, D.C. area in the early 1990s. He died on June 28, 2013 at his home in Alexandria, VA at the age of 80. In recent years, he suffered from the neurological disorder multiple system atrophy.
Wallace joined Drinker Biddle as an associate after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania law school in 1959. He later worked at the Philadelphia Savings Fund Society where he was a vice president for over 25 years. Wallace served in the Army for two years and also served his community in many other capacities. Together with his wife, Aideen O’Malley Cooney, they raised seven children.
