Sam Mason Becomes First General Counsel of ENVIRON

On September 30, 2013, our friend and Partner, Sam Mason, left Drinker Biddle to become the new General Counsel for our client, ENVIRON.

Sam joined the firm in 1998 and focused his practice on corporate matters, including mergers & acquisitions, international business and credit transactions, and general business matters. He also counseled nonprofit organizations on issues concerning their operations, governance and business transactions. Sam was a champion of our Philadelphia office’s efforts to support the Philadelphia Reads program, which teams area firms and businesses with the city’s youth to promote literacy. He was also a leader in our efforts to raise funds for various charities through our cycling teams.

Sam served as ENVIRON's primary outside counsel for over a decade. He says, "I’m replacing myself in effect. The company has grown quite a bit in the past 10 to 12 years and it needed a GC. Even though Drinker’s a great place, I like the idea of focusing on one company and really getting to know it.”

Sam has also serves on the board of Kendal Corp., a system of 13 retirement communities in eight states, and OMG Center for Collaborative Learning.
