Helen Tuttle Named to New Jersey Law Journal's 40 Under 40

The New Jersey Law Journal has named Florham Park partner Helen E. Tuttle one of its "40 Under 40" for 2011.

The 40 individuals named by the New Jersey Law Journal are chosen from among their peers for distinguishing themselves in their practice areas while continuing to contribute to the legal profession as a whole and participating meaningfully in their communities.  The paper's editorial department selected Tuttle, a partner in the firm's Labor & Employment practice group, based on her professional achievements, pro bono work and other volunteer activities.

Edward A. Gramigna, the Regional Partner in Charge of the Florham Park office, nominated Tuttle for the award, stating that she is a "role model in the true sense of the word."  Tuttle has actively contributed to the Florham Park office by serving as co-chair of the Florham Park office's Regional Diversity and Regional Women's committees and as a partner mentor to associates.  She has demonstrated consistency, growth and diversity in her business and has introduced several Global 500 clients to the firm.  Gramigna wrote that Tuttle, who emigrated from South Africa as a young child, is in a "unique position to counsel and guide lawyers" on the many challenges they face as law firms work to achieve sustained numbers of minority and women lawyers.

Concentrating her practice in management-side labor and employment issues, Tuttle effectively partners with her clients and counsels them through a variety of employment issues, such as obligations under federal and state laws, disciplinary actions, terminations, reorganizations and reductions in workforce.  She also reviews company policies and conducts training sessions focused on a variety of topics that assist her clients to create workplace cultures that are designed to mitigate the risk of legal action by employees — work that has become especially important in the current economic climate.

Tuttle earned her law degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law and her bachelor's degree from Franklin & Marshall College.
