Joan Antokol, Steven Hardin Win Lexology U.S. Writer of the Year Awards

Joan S. Antokol and Steven D. Hardin, both partners at Baker & Daniels LLP, have been named the winners of Lexology's U.S. Legal Writing Awards in health care and real estate, respectively, for 2010.

Lexology selected winners in both the United States and Canada for different legal categories based on the number of articles submitted, the content of the pieces and the total number of corporate counsel readers that their writing attracted over the last year.

Antokol, a member of Baker & Daniels' health and life sciences team, is recognized internationally for her legal work in privacy and data protection. She leads the firm's privacy and data protection group and also assists clients on document management practices.

In additional to writing articles on developments in the industry, Antokol is a frequent presenter at privacy conferences in the U.S. and Europe. She has particular expertise in a number of aspects of privacy and security, including medical and clinical research, addressing and preventing security breaches, and transferring personal information between countries.

Hardin practices with Baker & Daniels' real estate and land use group where he represents developers, contractors, landlords, tenants and property owners in a variety of real estate transactions. His areas of expertise include the acquisition, zoning, development, leasing and disposition of and economic incentives for office, retail, industrial and residential properties.

Hardin is active in a number of professional, industry and community organizations. He also is a frequent presenter at seminars and author of articles on real estate issues. Hardin publishes a regular Real Estate Alert for the real estate community.
