Leading Bankruptcy Team Joins Faegre & Benson

Faegre & Benson LLP has added a leading bankruptcy team to its Denver office, significantly expanding the firm's financing and restructuring practice in what are turbulent economic times for many businesses. The firm is pleased to welcome new partners Larry Bass, Elizabeth Flaagan, and Bradford Dempsey. All three join Faegre & Benson from the Denver office of Holme Roberts & Owen.

Bass specializes in corporate reorganization and debtor-creditor relations. He has represented a number of debtors, trustees, and creditors' committees in Chapter 11 cases, as well as secured creditors and purchasers and sellers of assets in bankruptcy proceedings.

Flaagan has represented secured creditors, creditors committees, trustees, debtors, unsecured creditors, and purchasers in complex bankruptcy cases throughout the country. She is certified as a business bankruptcy specialist by the American Bankruptcy Institute's board of certification.

Dempsey's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy and real estate litigation, tax litigation and appeals, workouts, and debtor-creditor rights litigation.

The new team will work closely with the firm's existing bankruptcy and restructuring practice to bring expanded depth and breadth to the practice on a national and international basis. The firm's restructuring practice has grown significantly in 2009, including the recent addition of attorneys Richard Curtain and Sarah McLennan to the London office.
