Faegre & Benson Honored for Use of Webcasting Technology

Faegre & Benson LLP recently received the 2007 Enterprise Award from Sonic Foundry (NASDAQ: SOFO), a leader in automated rich media communications technology, at the company's third annual Rich Media Impact Awards ceremony.

The awards highlight excellence in the practical and creative integration of rich media in business, education, health and government. Faegre & Benson was recognized with the Enterprise Award for its innovative use of Mediasite, Sonic Foundry's Webcasting and content management system, to enhance client service, training and global communications.

Using Mediasite, Faegre & Benson provides live or on-demand Internet viewing of seminars, meetings, professional development workshops and other knowledge-sharing tools. For example, lawyers in the firm's London office used this technology to deliver a streaming live presentation—complete with synchronized audio, video and presentation slides—to various clients across the globe. And in conjunction with Faegre & Benson's pro bono work with the Liberian Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), the firm shared a series of meetings held in its Minneapolis headquarters with members of the TRC in Liberia via a live Web stream.

Faegre & Benson is often recognized for its use of technology to deliver greater efficiency and greater value to clients. A 2006 survey of associates in The American Lawyer magazine ranked Faegre & Benson fourth in the country in its use of technology for clients, and a survey of international businesses by the BTI Consulting Group ranked Faegre & Benson among the most tech-savvy law firms in the United States.
