The Gary Indiana lakefront development is tied closely to the improvements in the South Shore Commuter rail access to downtown Chicago and the implementation of a public-private partnership strategy to leverage structured parking development to spur a mixed-use economic development project next to train stations (transit-oriented development). Our firm has played a major role in the planning and implementation of Gary’s TOD strategy.

The firm's consultants have a long history with TOD work. As part of the development of the Prudential Arena in Newark, senior advisor Bo Kemp helped to develop and implement the strategy to enhance access to New Jersey Transit, the Newark Subway system and Amtrak to provide access to the arena and the commercial and residential development planned in its vicinity. The development helped to generate more than $1 billion in new construction and development in downtown Newark over a 10-year period.
