In 2012, the immigration and global mobility team advised four different corporate clients in responding to single-state I-9 audits brought by U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) and bringing them to a close. The team advised on audits in both Indiana and Minnesota for clients including an apparel company, a manufacturer, a plant nursery and an agribusiness.
These cases included addressing immigration administrative subpoenas, the negotiation of settlements with the federal government, and strategic advice on company policies and practices to mitigate liability.
