John has extensive experience in dealing with financially distressed real estate projects, real estate litigation, foreclosures, receiverships, projects involving significant public financial inducements, and projects involving complex co-ownership, control and income sharing arrangements. John served on a state bar association subcommittee that drafted legislation and led a successful effort making significant changes to Minnesota's foreclosure laws.
John has given dozens (and dozens) of presentations on a broad range of real estate topics to trade associations and at local and national advanced legal education seminars. His programs have covered ground leases, foreclosures, workouts, receiverships, leasehold mortgages, tax issues arising in real estate transactions, title insurance, easements, deeds in lieu of foreclosure, indemnity provisions in real estate agreements, options and rights of first refusal, construction contracts and architect's agreements, and many other topics.
