Daniel Walbright assists major hospitals and health care systems on corporate transactional regulatory compliance and operational matters, including fraud and abuse risks, Medicare, Medicaid, and private payor billing, HIPAA and other patient privacy issues, academic affiliations, best practices for internal policies, and day-to-day support of general counsel matters.

Daniel’s experience includes researching and drafting memoranda, leading and conducting due diligence review and drafting legal motions. He has also assisted private equity firms with their purchase of physician organizations and pharmaceutical/medicine manufacturers.

During law school, Daniel interned for the Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign, Illinois. In this role, he researched and wrote legal memoranda on issues including ADA matters, Stark Law claims and HIPAA regulations. He also assisted with review of hospital policies, bylaws, facilities and websites to ensure compliance with ADA regulations and other state and federal laws.
