An employment litigator with a national profile and considerable courtroom experience, Amanda represents employers at all stages of litigation — from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and state administrative agencies, to state and federal district courts and courts of appeal. Her trial experience spans five states, and she has defended employers in more than 10 states throughout the country.
Amanda defends allegations related to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Equal Pay Act (EPA), and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Amanda advises clients on investigations, corrective actions (including separations, policies and procedures) and best practices. She partners with clients to develop legally compliant employment strategies tailored to clients’ unique business needs. She also offers guidance on trending topics in employment law. As a member of the firm’s AI and automated decision-making (AI-X) team, Amanda tracks federal, state and local law developments and offers guidance to employers on the use of data in making employment decisions.
Amanda represents colleges and universities throughout the country in administrative proceedings and litigation. She has trained faculty and staff on workplace harassment and Title IX, counseled academic institutions on successfully managing sensitive investigations, and advised schools on faculty tenure and termination, student discipline and related education matters.
