Overview
Luis Quiñones Fernandez represents corporations and individuals with a variety of litigation needs. Luis primarily focuses his practice on white collar work including internal investigations and criminal defense.
White Collar Criminal Defense
Luis represents individuals facing criminal charges of financial crimes, including wire fraud, tax fraud and price-fixing, along with nonfinancial federal crimes. He has worked in these federal criminal matters from pre-indictment through sentencing, and has participated in federal evidentiary hearings on suppression of evidence, sentencing and restitution. Luis provides a realistic outlook to clients along with a reassuring attitude of solutions for them and their families in challenging times.
Government Investigations
He advises clients during internal investigations, and guides them through their interactions with governmental entities. Luis has helped clients in the medical device, political consulting and e-commerce sectors to prepare for interviews with the Department of Justice and prepare responses to subpoenas with a lookout for potential criminal and civil pitfalls.
Internal Investigations
Luis conducts internal investigations for clients facing accusations of employee wrongdoing from governmental entities and whistleblowers. These investigations have included clients in the healthcare and construction sectors. As part of these investigations, he has helped identify weaknesses in policies and procedures, and helped develop changes to them as barriers and early detectors of potential wrongdoing. Luis understands the need for due diligence, frankness and calmness to ensure minimal disruption to the client during investigations.
Commercial Litigation
Luis represents corporate clients in various contract disputes including breach of contract, breaches of representations and warranties, and fraud. He has worked in these matters through both litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
