Afton Paris advises insurance industry clients in the area of life insurance litigation.

During her third year of law school, Afton worked as a clinic student advocate at the Appellate & Supreme Court Clinic, where she prepared briefs and case documents in constitutional appeals and delivered oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Afton also worked for Judge Raymond Jackson in the U.S. District Court for Eastern District of Virginia, as a law clerk at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado, and as a research assistant for Professor Allison Orr Larsen, analyzing en banc decisions from federal courts of appeals. She was a lead articles editor of the William & Mary Law Review and a symposium issue editor of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy, in addition to serving as chief justice of the William & Mary Moot Court Team. She was a summer associate for Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP in 2018.
