Overview

Arsalan Memon* advises clients on domestic and international tax issues relating to domestic and cross-border structuring transactions, including restructurings and tax-deferred reorganizations. Arsalan works with multinational corporations and private equity firms on a variety of corporate and international tax matters and has helped them navigate complex tax rules, including the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act (FIRPTA), anti-deferral provisions, the Tax Cut and Jobs Act provisions, taxation of foreign currency transactions, foreign tax credits and anti-inversion provisions.

Prior Experience

Before joining Faegre Drinker, Arsalan worked for an international accounting firm where he advised on tax aspects of domestic and cross-border structuring transactions. Arsalan has previously served as a legal tax intern in the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Arsalan has also served as a court attorney for the Suffolk County Supreme Court in New York. He is fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Sindhi.

Personal Interests

In his free time, Arsalan spends time with his three children (Aasir, Ashar and Ashbah) and his lovely wife, Sobia, and likes reading books.
