Overview

Allie Lakshmanan strategizes with clients on a panoramic range of intellectual property and litigation matters, focusing primarily on patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright issues. She has advocated for multinational corporations in state and federal courts and brings a client-side perspective to her practice, having worked in-house for a Fortune 50 company.

Informed IP Support

Allie previously clerked for the now-retired Honorable Ruben Castillo and the Honorable Samuel Der-Yeghiayan of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She gained an invaluable perspective on federal district court litigation, enabling a smooth transition from patent prosecution to intellectual property litigation.

Before clerking, Allie was an intellectual property attorney for Archer Daniels Midland Company, a global agribusiness. She prepared and prosecuted patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and collaborated with outside counsel to prosecute foreign patent applications, managing over 75 patent families. She also evaluated invention disclosures to determine patentability, counseled business units on comprehensive intellectual property strategy and conducted freedom-to-operate analyses of competitors’ patents. Additionally, Allie provided transactional support, including assisting with IP due diligence and drafting and negotiating various IP-related agreements.
