- Tried cases to verdict, including as first chair
- Briefed and argued dispositive motions
- Examined and cross-examined fact and expert witnesses
- Taken and defended the depositions of key witnesses
- Briefed and argued appeals
- Managed complex e-discovery involving millions of documents
Securities & Financial Litigation
Dan represents entities and individuals in post-merger disputes and in cases involving allegations of negligence and fraud, breach of fiduciary duty or contract, unsuitability, improper solicitation, and failure to conduct due diligence. He has handled securities and business cases in multiple federal and state court cases and FINRA arbitrations.
Trade Secret Litigation & Counseling
Dan helps companies protect and defend their valuable trade secrets. He handles trade-secret cases involving allegations of theft, misappropriation, corporate espionage, non-disclosure agreements and restrictive covenants, and licensing disputes.
Dan represents clients in the financial services, insurance, software, manufacturing, technology, pharmaceutical and energy industries.
Before joining the firm, Dan practiced in the complex commercial litigation group at Jenner & Block LLP in Chicago. Before law school, Dan taught social studies and coached wrestling for two years at an under-resourced rural public school as a member of Teach for America in Eastern North Carolina.
