Overview

Lisa Crum advises traditional utilities, corporations, and renewable energy clients on all aspects of local, state and federal regulation. Drawing from her extensive experience representing the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (MPUC) as assistant attorney general in the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, she delivers energy law expertise to help innovators in renewable and alternative energy stay ahead of the curve. She leverages expertise in renewable natural gas, solar, wind and other renewable projects to assist project developers, financing sources and tax equity investors. Lisa can assist with transactional as well as litigation matters and has extensive appellate experience before the Minnesota Court of Appeals, Minnesota Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Minnesota Attorney General’s Office

As assistant attorney general, Lisa represented state agencies and commissions, including the MPUC, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. She has handled a variety of administrative proceedings on behalf of agency clients and has litigated complex cases in state and federal courts involving energy regulatory disputes, oil pipeline permitting, state electric ratemaking, electric vehicles, solar developments, environmental compliance, and environmental review including NEPA, MEPA, and MERA.

Prior Experience

Prior to her work in the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, Lisa was a partner at a Minneapolis law firm, where she advised traditional and renewable energy companies, building contractors and other clients on legal and policy issues.

Lisa also previously served as assistant attorney general in the Alaska Attorney General’s Office.
