Jane Blaney assists clients seeking solutions related to insurance matters, with concentrated knowledge in health insurance, health insurance regulation and technology services.

When Jane was a summer associate with our firm in 2019, she supported clients by researching and drafting contractual provisions, policy guides and other materials for our insurance practice. As a public policy associate for Medica Health Plans, Jane monitored and summarized legislative and regulatory changes to advise business decisions, prepared research summaries to advise legislators, assisted with bill drafting language and monitored insurance-related legislation. Before working at Medica Health Plans, she also interned at Optum, a subsidiary for UnitedHealth Group where she supported the legal team in contract drafting, negotiation, international business and regulatory issues.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Jane worked clinically in the health care setting for eight years, working in direct patient care and also advising businesses on proper regulatory adherence. She also worked advising patients on insurance matters, specializing in government health care coordination with private insurance. Jane has advised health care and insurance businesses in a variety of settings.

Jane is currently pursuing her Master’s in Health Analytics from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, focusing on business strategy, economics and data programming. Her expanded knowledge of technology and analytics allows her to advise clients in the increasingly digitalized world of insurance.
