Carita Austin is a versatile advocate who advises employers on their labor and employment law needs. She brings a dynamic mindset to her clients with her depth of experience, including having worked as a National Labor Relations Board attorney and in-house secondments with a Fortune 500 company and a global healthcare company.

Carita has a national practice in both the private and public sector, working with clients in diverse industry groups, including automotive supply, manufacturing, food/agribusiness, healthcare, construction and educational institutions. Carita collaborates with employers to help them comply with complex state and federal employment and labor laws, including in front of the NLRB and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

She assists clients with arbitrations, employment litigation, contract negotiations, workplace investigations, union representation campaigns, administrative agency defense, ethics and compliance management support, supervisor trainings, and employee handbook/social media policy review.

Carita is known for her excellent and responsive client service. She develops meaningful client relationships while learning her clients’ businesses, and she strives to make her clients feel at ease. Moreover, as a native Spanish speaker, she effectively communicates across languages and cultures while working with employers and workforces from all walks of life.

Personal Interests

Carita enjoys traveling with her husband and her three sons, attending concerts and playing the piano. Her passions include mentoring students and serving on a non-profit board advocating for pediatric cancer awareness and research.
