When it comes to responding to compliance inquiries and investigations, Katherine’s regulatory background and tactical approach are invaluable assets. In addition, Katherine works proactively with clients to fortify information privacy and security practices, develop information governance programs and avoid blowback from advertising and marketing issues and other matters regulated by the FTC.
Katherine serves on the Editorial Board of the Faegre Drinker on Data blog, which discusses developments in privacy, cybersecurity, information governance and data analytics.
Katherine previously served as a senior attorney in the FTC’s Division of Privacy and Identity Protection. During her tenure with the agency, Katherine oversaw FCRA initiatives, including enforcement investigations and consent negotiations. She also counseled former Chairman Janet Steiger and Commissioner Sheila Anthony on various consumer protection issues, with an emphasis on issues involving privacy and unfair or deceptive acts or practices.
