In an article titled “Lina Khan Has to Act Fast on Her Progressive Antitrust Agenda at the FTC,” Bloomberg Businessweek turned to antitrust partner and former Federal Trade Commission (FTC) attorney Alicia Batts for commentary on FTC Chair Lina Khan’s progressive antitrust agenda.
With the agency divided 2-2 on partisan lines, the FTC’s GOP commissioners were able to keep Khan from making progress. “Chair Khan wants to return to the original vision of the FTC, and Republican commissioners are reluctant to expand the FTC’s role,” says Batts. “In order to pursue her progressive agenda, she needs to have that third vote.”
