According to Business Insurance, there has been a significant increase in the size of aggregate class-action settlement recoveries, particularly in 2021, and this is expected to continue. Labor and employment partner Greg Abrams spoke to the publication about this trend.
The publication reported that the COVID-19 pandemic would generate more workplace class-action litigation in 2022, especially for wage-and-hour issues. Abrams said employers’ efforts to comply with various COVID-19-related obligations “presents uncharted territory, as far as potential class-action claims.”
