Patent filings: where are the women? – World Intellectual Property Review (WIPR)

Mercedes Meyer provides commentary on the startling lack of women participating in the international innovation ecosystem. World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) statistics show that less than one-fifth (18.7%) of inventors named in international patent applications in 2019 were women, and at the current pace, gender parity in this environment will not be reached until approximately the year 2044.
