Jim Lundy Quoted by Financial Planning About What the SEC Expects From Advisors Despite the Coronavirus Pandemic

Jim Lundy provided insight to Financial Planning about how the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is monitoring firms during the coronavirus outbreak.

“Have some folks on your team who can follow enforcement cases and interpret what they may mean for the business, what they may mean for the disclosures that you're making and be prepared to put a plan in place to proactively take that information to remediate any gaps that may be there.”

In the article, Lundy also says he tells clients to look closely at the cases the SEC is bringing against firms, explaining that when the commission publicizes an enforcement case, it is also sending messages to the rest of the industry that certain types of conduct are no longer acceptable and that said conduct may be subject to examinations and investigations by the SEC.
