Bob Stoll Speaks on Section 101 and Patent Subject Matter Eligibility at the Advanced Patent Law Institute
Overview
On March 21, 2019, Washington, D.C. partner and co-chair of the IP Group Bob Stoll participated in 14th Annual Advanced Patent Law Institute at the USPTO in Arlington, Virginia. Bob presented on “Section 101 and Drafting Implications: Life Sciences”, discussing patent subject matter eligibility and recommended that the USPTO order that the examiners’ actions with issues under written description, enablement and clarity handled first. These are followed by issues related to anticipation and obviousness and only then does the examiner make rejections related to patent subject matter eligibility.
