Job Description

Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP is seeking applications from 1L students interested in a 2022 Intellectual Property Summer Associate position in our Chicago, Denver, Indianapolis, Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. offices.  Ideal candidates will have a desired focus in Intellectual Property Litigation; a background in computer science, electrical engineering, chemistry, biomedical engineering, and related fields is preferred but not required.

Our Summer Associate positions provide real world, hands-on experience in a traditional law firm environment. This Intellectual Property 1L position includes mentoring by colleagues at the firm and a cohort of other 1L and 2L law students from law schools across the country. The firm considers applicants with a wide variety of backgrounds, characteristics and life experiences. Ideal candidates for this role will have demonstrated a record of academic and professional achievement and contribute to the advancement of diversity, equity and inclusion through engagement in law school or community efforts and initiatives.

Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP provides fellowship opportunities to diverse first-year law students across the country. These 1L positions are inclusive of the following components: a paid 1L summer associate position in one of the domestic offices listed above; mentoring by colleagues at the firm; a cohort of other 1L and 2L law students at the firm; and sponsored participation in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (“LCLD”) 1L Scholars Program.

2022 Minneapolis 1L Summer Associate (TCDIP)

Job Description

Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP provides fellowship opportunities in partnership with Twin Cities Diversity in Practice (TCDIP) in our Minneapolis office. Our 1L program offers a unique summer associate opportunity that combines a traditional law firm clerkship with experience working in-house with a corporate law department. In 2022, our corporate law department partners will include 3M, Allina Health, Boston Scientific, Cargill, Xcel Energy, Intact Insurance Group, Pentair, Target and Wells Fargo. In addition to a paid summer associate position with a “rotation” (typically 3-4 weeks) at one of the clients noted above, participants will have an opportunity to attend networking receptions and educational seminars through TCDIP.
