Faegre Drinker Welcomes Real Estate Partner Joseph Brasile in New York

Faegre Drinker announced today that Joseph Brasile has joined the firm as partner in the real estate practice group in the New York office. He comes to the firm from Pryor Cashman, where he was a partner for nearly 15 years.

Brasile helps real estate stakeholders reach successful outcomes across a wide variety of real estate and financing transactions, including the sale and acquisition of office buildings, multifamily properties, hotels, mixed-use properties, shopping centers, vacant land and air rights. He also represents commercial landlords and tenants and buyers and sellers of commercial real estate.

“Joe is a dynamic attorney who brings substantial knowledge and experience to clients in all aspects of real estate transactions,” Scott Anderegg, Faegre Drinker’s real estate practice group leader, said in a statement. “His real estate and financing practice, and specifically his work representing lenders across the U.S., enhances the capabilities and strength of our national real estate finance and investing team. We are thrilled to welcome Joe to Faegre Drinker.”

In his real estate finance practice, Brasile partners with real estate investors, lenders and other stakeholders on a wide range of transactions. He represents both lenders and borrowers in traditional mortgage financing, and he represents borrowers in mezzanine financing. Brasile is experienced in negotiating agreements for all types of loans, including permanent, construction, co-op, condo and conduit loans. He also counsels clients on loan workout terms and modifications.

Brasile’s practice also focuses on real estate development and retail, where he partners with developers and retailers to prepare and negotiate construction contracts, alteration agreements, engineering contracts and architect agreements. He also helps clients buy and sell luxury residences, townhouses, condos and cooperative apartments.

Brasile earned his bachelor’s degree from Fordham University and his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce, Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. and the New York State Bar Association
