Product liability and mass torts practice deputy leader Michael C. Zogby has been named a 2021 “Leaders in Law” honoree by NJBIZ, one of New Jersey’s premier business news publications. The “Leaders in Law” awards program honors the top echelon of New Jersey legal professionals – leading lawyers, managing partners, and general counsels – whose dedication to their occupation and to their communities is outstanding. Following an open nomination period, honorees were chosen by a panel of independent judges with experience in the justice system.
Zogby, a trial partner in the firm’s Florham Park office, represents multinational clients in litigation and risk management related to aggregated proceedings and product liability and mass tort claims. He is an advocate for clients in the life sciences industry, and counsels clients in commercial and consumer disputes, class actions, intellectual property and antitrust challenges and trade secret violations. Zogby also serves as co-chair of the firm’s health and life sciences litigation team. He received national ranking by LMG Life Sciences, Benchmark Litigation, and Chambers and Partners for Products Liability & Mass Tort, USA Nationwide, which states: “His attention to detail is great, and he’s well respected by peers and the court,” and “He is outstanding, and has a great skill set.”
Zogby counsels clients in the United States, Asia and Europe on data privacy, governance and security, and crisis management, and he coordinates cross-border trial issues and discovery involving multidistrict proceedings and highly regulated industries. He is an elected member of the Products Liability Advisory Council and the International Association of Defense Counsel, a member of the Board of Directors for the Trial Attorneys of America, and a Trustee of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey, and co-chair of the pharmaceutical and medical device subcommittee of the ABA’s mass tort committee. He frequently contributes to journals and industry panel discussions on existing and emerging topics in life sciences, trial advocacy, cross-border litigation and product liability law. Zogby also serves on the faculty of the National Trial Advocacy College at the University of Virginia School of Law, and has lectured on trial ethics for practitioners at Fordham University School of Law. He is a graduate of William & Mary School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Environmental Law and Policy Review.
The 2021 “Leaders in Law” honorees will be profiled in a special section of NJBIZ on Monday, May 24, and a virtual event showcasing honorees will be presented on May 13. More information and a list of the honorees can be found here.
