Insurance services senior counsel Tibor Klopfer has been named a 2020 “Inspiring Alumni Award” recipient by the Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) Foundation. The IPS “Inspiring Alumni Award” honors an IPS graduate of a current or former IPS high school for outstanding professional and community accomplishments.
In his award acceptance speech, Klopfer, a graduate of Broad Ripple High School, highlighted the impact that IPS had on his life. He also spoke about his recent involvement with IPS, and his role as a Holocaust educational speaker, having presented on the subject to nearly 7,000 parents and adults in Indianapolis area schools. Klopfer said, “There are important lessons to be learned from the Holocaust. Lessons about valuing diversity, and about personal responsibility.” He added, “I hope that my acceptance of this ‘Inspiring Alumni Award’ will in some small way help further communicate those important lessons.”
In his practice, Klopfer plans and drives strategic and financial transactions involving insurance companies. He advises stock, mutual and nonprofit insurance companies and insurance holding company systems, as well as insurance regulators, in connection with a variety of corporate transactions and related matters.
Klopfer earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School.
