Finance & restructuring associate Leah Sixkiller has been profiled in The Secured Lender’s Women in Secured Finance issue.
The designation recognizes women leaders within the SFNet’s member organizations and Secured Finance Foundation contributors who are making an impact in their organizations and throughout the secured finance industry.
In the issue, Leah offers advice for women beginning their career in the secured finance industry.
“Along with asking questions and being honest about your understanding, it is critical to demonstrate that you can take ownership of your work, even if it is just for one small project related to a much larger transaction,” she says.
She also offers insight as to how commercial finance organizations can attract and retain more women.
“Progressive policies make a big difference,” she explains. “Keep up with companies that have the best parental leave, flex-time, and reduced time policies. Ensure that the management and leaders are openly discussing, implementing, and celebrating those progressive policies.”
