Drinker Biddle Named a Top Firm for Women for Seventh Year

Working Mother magazine has once again named Drinker Biddle one of the top law firms for women in the country, marking the firm’s seventh appearance on the prestigious “60 Best Law Firms for Women” list. The list honors the law firms most committed to advancing women through family-friendly policies and career and business development initiatives.

“We are honored to be selected and appreciate Working Mother’s recognition of the firm’s sustained efforts to support the hiring, retention and advancement of women lawyers,” said Lynne Anne Anderson, co-chair of Drinker Biddle’s Women’s Leadership Committee. “We are proud to be part of a firm that elected women to be 50% of our managing partners (board of directors), and that 50% of our firm’s executive team are women.”

In its profile of Drinker Biddle, Working Mother highlights the firm’s 2018 Women’s Retreat, which “brought together women lawyers to network and identify strategic goals to support career and personal success. Work started there continues through regular meetings of subcommittees and programming focused on business development, work-life balance and enhancing personal connections within the firm.”

Jennifer R. Breuer, who co-chairs the Women’s Leadership Committee with Anderson, noted that the retreat mentioned by the magazine was enthusiastically embraced by the entire firm.

“The positive impact was such that we are preparing content for our 2020 Women’s Retreat, and looking forward to again bringing together our talented female colleagues,” Breuer said.

Drinker Biddle’s Women’s Leadership Committee is charged with attracting, retaining and advancing women in the firm and spearheading the development and implementation of related programs. With firm leadership’s express commitment, a robust budget and access to resources throughout the firm, the committee facilitates business development and marketing opportunities for women and provides a culture and workplace environment hospitable toward all employees.

Andrew C. Kassner, the firm’s chairman and chief executive officer, said, "At Drinker Biddle, we prioritize our commitment to diversity and inclusion, ensuring that all of our people - regardless of gender or background - feel valued, involved and invested in the future of the firm. The Women's Leadership Committee turns that commitment into action by providing tools that empower our female attorneys and professionals. We are gratified that our efforts have once again been recognized by Working Mother magazine."

Working Mother founded the Best Law Firms for Women initiative to celebrate the law firms that are most successful in retaining and promoting women lawyers. The selected firms lead the industry in supporting flexible work arrangements and offering generous paid parental leave. The Best Law Firms also focus on women's business development and parity in compensation, as well as increasing women's representation among the equity partnership and leadership ranks.
